Presenting Your Prototypes and Process

This workshop is where you account for what you built and what it taught you. You've made a prototype, tested it, broken it and revised it. Now you show someone else what you made, how you made it and why it matters, in a short case study you can reuse in your portfolio. Then you listen to others do the same, look for what your projects have in common, and look back over the whole series.

There are two ways through this workshop. Both end in the same place.

  • For a quick run-through, follow the TLDR. It's one page of short steps, with links to the detailed guides if you want more.
  • For a deeper understanding, follow the detailed guides below, in order. They explain what to include, how to present and give feedback, and what the series added up to.

What You'll Do

  • Build a case-study deck of up to 7 slides about your prototype and your process.
  • Optionally, record a demo video of 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Present for 3 minutes, then talk about your work for 3 minutes.
  • Give other presenters specific, useful feedback, and discuss the themes you noticed.
  • Look back over the series through three frames: AI as a tool, as a material and as a medium.

Before You Start

Bring:

Every earlier workshop feeds into this one. Workshop 2 gives you the role card and system card, and Workshop 5 can help you take screenshots and draw a system diagram.

You can do this workshop with a group or on your own. Where the guides describe a group activity, they also say how to do it alone.

Two Ways Through

3–4Presenting and Giving FeedbackThe 3-minute format, how to give useful feedback, and the group discussion.
